Fake person asking for my exact next avail date… Not cool…

Hey peerspace…let’s add a “report” feature.
It’s time.
Email verification? Are you kidding me? Email verified?

@Tommy_R Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I have alerted our Trust & Safety Team to this user. In the future, please email us immediately at help@peerspace.com. We are expanding our weekend coverage, so even if it’s over the weekend, we will see it and take care of it. Thanks!

Help me out here, why is that an issue to know your availability? Am I reading it wrong?

How do you know this is a fake person? Perhaps I am also reading it wrong or missing something.

Me too, I’m in the dark about what’s going on.

This looks like a normal inquiry… What are we all missing here???

The inquiry/details looked artificial to me.

I also found it strange that this person seemed to be checking on my exact next available date which is weeks away.

I do not use the calendar because:

  1. My neighbors have no business knowing what I’m doing and when

  2. If you’re out of town, you’re giving potential burglars some information, possibly as to when you’ll be back in town.

I could be wrong, but this person may potentially be trying to verify that.

And all Peerspace has is email verification, so basically, anyone with a computer and an email address is considered to be verified.
It would be cool if Peerspace could help vet new accounts over the phone. Thank you.

I may not be as advance with the calendar stuff. We’re close by … we don’t host events or parties just production so I haven’t seen any questionable inquiries. I do think that adds a whole level of concern when people are at your location to party, celebrate vs a work day. When I see an inquiry that just joined @peerspace-team I do my own diligence and google the heck out of the person, the production team and brand. I do agree we should be a bit more protected, ANYONE can make an account with bad intentions and we’re in essence taking a chance at times.

Totally agree, I stopped offering space for events etc, got too many inquiries that didn’t seem legit, 80 percent would of required police assistance and I would of been on local news for it ( there’s been issues with people offering their property for paid parties and multiple police agencies had to come to break it up). Unless you are a commercial business( not living in a residential neighborhood) , I don’t think anyone should be hosting parties or events.
