More information needed

Just got a booking. When I went to call the person who booked to firm up some details, lo and behold !!! No phone number. In fact, when I opened the profile, it said that the phone number was unverified. It seems it would be a matter of security to collect the phone number of potential guest. And then to pass it on to hosts once the booking was verified.

I thought that would be a requirement. Maybe the person did have a phone number when he/she created profile but has since changed it?

It seems like some renters include their phone number and it’s included with the booking request, while others don’t. It’s a bit inconsistent. The work around until this is a requirement would be to always ask for the number. But agreed, it should be a part of security protocol. 100%.

It would be awesome if Peerspace got more involved in helping protect hosts and their safety. I know there is an upcoming Webinar @Janae is currently posting about, so hopefully this is a topic they can address, and what Peerspace is doing to provide more protection for hosts. Personally, I have come across instances where people are using other people’s names and accounts for various reasons, which cause major safety and security concerns.

I agree with Yvonne, that having a verified phone number would be helpful and it would be great if Peerspace can assure that the guest profiles are legit verified accounts. that said, when guests make bookings they may not even be on site. It is up to the host to get as many details as to what makes them comfortable. Personally, I ask for first and last name, company name and what their role is for the shoot. I also ask for the on site person name and contact info if it will not the guest who booked.
