Power Host Criteria Change on Residential please? Increased commisions less visibility

I have been renting my propery on the site for 3 years and have completed about 90 bookings. All 5 star reviews except one. I have lost power host credentials the last year, but the number of bookings and bookings request in the LA area has declined hugely (budgets, hollywood, yada).

I am pro all the Powerhost rules EXCEPT I think they shoudl lower the threshold to 3 instead of 5 approved bookings in a quarter.

In my opinion, if you have 90 5 star bookings or more it should just actually just be a permanent thing, only lost if you do no bookings in a calendar year. Wouldn’t Peerspace want to have more Power Host designations for great clients - it only seeks to ensure potential renters of our legitimate practices.

I wish i got a gold star for every inquiry where they ask for a lower price and do not book if you refuse. I might be rich!

I also think it’s nuts how little marketing gets done around this site. They should be hitting that social media hard, touring homes, highlighting venues/homes, doing online advertising in the right places. If they do i have never seen it.

Want to make this place better, it could be so much better!

All great points! Yeah, up here in the Bay Area bookings tend to be seasonal, especially for indoor-outdoor places like ours. It would be nice to have the power host critera be related to overall success rather than just the last 90 days. It rains here for four months. And hosts like me have families and travel for summer and winter and spring breaks, so maybe saying 15 bookings in the last 12 months makes more sense. Then Peerspace will only award people who stick with it and only highlight them after they have at least 15 bookings under their belt. And yeah 1 of course Peerspace wants to highlight the best of the best.

I do agree with you about more promoting of the site. However, I do not actually believe that the power host sticker makes any difference at all to the number of bookings or inquiries you get. I have asked numerous renters whether it influences their decisions. The answer is always no. And from what I have learned, being a power host gives no advantage in the placement. I have had the power host button and lost it due to insufficient bookings, so it obviously did not help. And then I have gotten it back due to meeting the bookings requirement, so not having it did not hurt. Although it’s nice to have the sticker, from what I can tell, it’s meaningless. If anybody has any evidence of it being worth anything, please educate me.
