Loosing Powerhost status because of inquiries?

Wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with being a Powerhost and loosing it solely to the fact that your inquiries exceed your actual bookings? We’ve met our other qualifications by 100%
@peerspace-team many times it’s someone inquiring, placing us on a hold so they can show their team a few location options (since we’re close to LA there is a lot to choose from.) Since we have lost our Powerhost status , inquiries have stopped altogether and I don’t know if it’s a direct correlation or if the search option /algorithm has changed or if it’s just too saturated now with listings? I’ve been on Peerspace since it started so I’ve seen highs and lows but it seems unfair that you have sometimes inexperienced people inquiring about your space with a redundant question that’s in your listing info and then having it as a strike against the host???
@peerspace-team it would be nice to receive those stats we used too about how much our listing is actually being seen by users on the platform…where did that go?

I don’t think inquiries vs actual bookings affects Power Host status, but I do wish it meant more to be a power host. Honestly don’t feel the effect of being a power host…I don’t see our listing get any more status nor am I able to reach any one quicker with the phone number provided, if there is an issue. You may want to check with them why you lost your status as I don’t think inquiries count against you.

@Rick_F I am brand new to the Power Host status which I am very excited for. Interesting to hear that it does not effect your bookings much. I will keep note of that and see if there is any change.

Thanks for the feedback @Rick_F. We are looking into ways to make the Power Host program increasingly valuable to hosts. One anecdote about the value of that designation that I wanted to share with hosts is that over 80% of hosts will retain their status in a given quarter. This means hosts that are successful on Peerspace tend to continue to get inquiries and bookings that this designation provides.

@Jennifer_M , I can confirm that there is no stipulation where status can be lost based on having more inquiries than bookings. The program is solely based on bookings, review rating, responsiveness, and no unexcused host cancellations. More information provided here.

Hi @Matthew_B thank you for clarifying that information. Can you shed some light on the fact that there is so much competition and it’s getting harder for hosts to keep up their bookings when there is so much more competition added to the site every day? We can’t all be seen on the site?

thanks @Matthew_B for commenting. I do have to tell you that multiple people have booked me from other sites I’m registered with and noted they couldn’t find me on Peerspace. It may be a unique issue for my listing, however I wouldn’t draw the conclusion that hosts are keeping their power host status due to having the status already…I think it would be related to the uniqueness of their listing and quality of the experience that keeps people coming back or attracting new guests. I’d hope that power hosts would appear higher in the list in a search but that is not in the case, at least in my experience.
