Can someone clarify whether it’s appropriate for me to reject an inquiry due to the absence of a valid profile photo? Recently, I’ve encountered situations where individuals have sent last-minute requests from new accounts without any reviews, accompanied by seemingly random profile photos of objects.
Aren’t they requirements for new guest accounts to have a valid profile photo?

I once had the profile picture of a pretty blonde model. When the guest arrived, it was a Chinese man. I asked him why he represented himself as a blonde model. He just thought she was prettier than he was. But he was fine and the booking was smooth. Though I don’t know whether that helps you.
I’ve rejected requests based on many things but especially the lack of a clear profile picture is one of them. It used to be required. There’s people utilizing Peerspace to do fraudulent/devious things and there’s many that aren’t professional. I’ve had some where I state that first things first, they need a profile picture. The person will then adds one. It does match. However, there’s been one that added an anime one and was trying to extract info from me instead of being professional. If you don’t feel comfortable, decline the request. The ones without profile pictures never have reviews and won’t.

I always try and set up a tour prior to booking, if they can not come in, I insist on a Facetime tour

Thank you. I don’t feel comfortable. I Recently had a same day request and their profile photo was of a door and they had no reviews. I can tell it was a brand new profile made this month. I tend to stay away from same day or very last minute request because of the number of bad experiences I had with them.

Hi @Sophia_W, it is your space/home, you have every right to protect it. I also ask a series of questions, such as what companies/social media handles will be involved, and try to look them up online. However, I will tell you, I’ve had plenty of bookings where there was no information and it ended up being a big company who just happens to have random employees book their spaces. As they say…go with your intuition and try to screen as best as possible. Best Wishes, Alex
