Perplexed by a request for a booking tomorrow (as in literally this request for just 24hrs away) where profile doesn’t have a person’s face, just a cartoon graphic, no phone number listed, the type of booking says “Auction”, and number of persons is “1”. The booking would be for under $400.
It seems very scammy…has anyone else encountered this or something similar?
What would the reason be for trying to get me to accept? My thought is it could be someone that does intend to show up to either steal items or scout for a break-in later…
And as far as payment, is there a lag time of Peerspace processing their payments to where they could somehow not actually be charged or refute it after the visit?
Just odd that someone would waste their time if it’s fake and trying to figure out the motive.
Hi Mike, Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We agree that this booking looks suspicious. Please do not respond to the inquiry. We’ll reach out to you directly via email to follow up.
I had 2 bookings like this yesterday and today as well. The one today had a link to click on and said my account has been temporarily restricted. I’m not going to click on the link of course.
I’ve had 2 of those as well in the past 2 days. I did email Peerspace about it to ask if it was a scam, but they did not reply to me as of yet. Reading all these posts, my hunch was correct
