SLOW MONTHS... months without bookings via peerspace

Hello,

I’ve been a host on Peerspace since April. In the beginning, I was obtaining business from Peerspace. Now, things are slowing up and the only business I’ve obtained is from ME. I thought being a POWER HOST on Peerspace would bring more business and it has actually done the complete OPPOSITE. When I wasn’t a powerhost, we were booming in business. Now, it is slow…

I am not going to blame Peerspace. I am in need of some tips if anyone would mind taking out the time to give advice. Below is the link to my spaces… I have both a photography and podcast studio. I am looking for great advice…

A couple of years ago, Peerspace sent out a survey asking hosts what features they would like to see. One was a way to flagging renters as verified by you and using the Peerspace booking with Peerspace taking a much smaller percentage of the revenue. That seemed like a win/win to me but I haven’t heard anything about it since. That would help your situation.

Your business may be seasonal. I’m near DC, and summers are pretty slow because people choose to shoot outside. Fall gets busier, and in the winter we’re packed.
Since you don’t have comparative data from last year, there’s no way to know what your fall and winter will look like.
Another thing we’ve found with the rise if the Delta variant is that people are booking with less advanced notice. Before the pandemic, we used to have shoots booked many weeks ahead. Now, we’re getting a lot more shoots booked for the same week or a few days in advance. My guess is that people don’t know what to expect in the future so they’re not making long term plans.
This is my experience and I don’t know if it’s yours, but I hope it will offer some insight into the booking ups and downs we all have as studio hosts.
