Would love to hear your experience in how your numbers of bookings/inquiries fluctuate from month to month. I have been getting 3-4 bookings per month. But in April, I had 14 bookings for 17 days. Then comes May, I have 2 bookings. I do both events and productions.
I’ve also noticed that after becoming PowerHost, I’m getting fewer inquiries. Is that a coincidence? How have different months/seasons affected your bookings? Thank you in advance for any insights.
We’ve noticed a similar fluctuation in bookings this year as well. Jan-Mar was pretty strong, but then we saw a dip in April and now May. This is our first year on the platform, so we’re not sure if this is a seasonal thing or if something else is going on. We are also Power Hosts.
I’ve been renting out my photo studio for over 30 years, the last slowdown as bad as this, was for 9/11.
I don’t understand what happened in the past six months or so, that it got so slow!!

Lat month has been devastating because most of my work comes through Peerspace & I have not getting 1/5 of what I used to get. Maybe the platform is becoming oversaturated with spaces?
I’m utterly flummoxed… went from a regular flow of inquiries in Coastal Virginia to… ZERO… I know there are more players coming in, but I have a dozen five-star reviews and my rates are comparable to the market.
nuttin… as in… the marketplace has imploded…

Thank you guys for chiming in! Not only there were no bookings, I received only 1 inquiry this month. I used to receive at least 3-4 inquiries per week. I suspect Chuck’s speculation is correct. There might have been an influx of new users on the platform to offset the high rents. Is there a way to get this data from the platform?
For those who have been renting to productions, have you noticed a decrease in the number of projects? Are production projects affected by seasons? I used to do at least one production per month, and did 3 productions in April, but not an inquiry for May.
I actually have experienced the opposite here in San Diego. Jan-Mar was slower and a big boom in April/May. Not sure …
I used to do 3 bookings a week at the very least sometimes even 3 in just one day and now I’ve had only 1 booking in the last 2 months. I noticed a change in January - March, I would say about half the amount. I’m really worried this is a permanent issue. I rely on this income to help me get out of major student loan debt. Is there a way for us to inquire collectively?
In May 2021 I hosted 25+ bookings all from peerspace, in May 2022 I’ve had about 4. The difference between then and now is huge. Market saturation was the first thing that came to my mind. With new spaces added so frequently, I can understand how this happens. Many types of platforms like peerspace are good if you catch them early. I’m afraid in mid-2022 it is no longer early.
Agreed with all of the above. I am listed on page 15+ for spaces in my area; I have 70+ 5-star reviews while some other places have zero or 1 reviews listed much higher in the queue. When I reached out to Peerspace for support, I was given a generic response.
