Review Timeframe

Can peerspace please change the review timeframe to 24 hours? The current way is too rushed. I had a booking end at 1:30am last night and I wasn’t able to get to my space until around 10am this morning to do a walk through to make sure everything was clean/in order. In the meantime I wasn’t able to access a booking that starts at 11:30am today. In the past this has led to me leaving inaccurate reviews for guests that did not do an acceptable job in cleaning after themselves.

Please extend this timeframe to 24 hours.

Seconded, it’s my most desired change to this platform. Instead of prohibiting new bookings until a review is left, they should tie the review to the payout, or at least allow a 24-hour grace period before a review is required.

Case in point as to why this policy is silly- I have multiple spaces, and there’s a booking in one of them from 7AM - 7:30PM today (11/19). It is still in progress as I write this. At noon today, I had a request for a booking in my other space for 3:30 today. I was able to approve and accept the booking without issue. Had the 7AM booking ended at 11AM, I would not have been able to accept the last-minute booking without leaving a review first.

(Also, you can skirt the requirement by sending a custom offer. Not that you should, reviews are important, but again, just goes to show how weird and arbitrary this system is.)

Another good solution would be to require reviews before a new booking for the first five or ten bookings. This would help guests get reviews and enforce the system. Once a host has dozens or hundreds of reviews on their space(s), it’s clear they’re serious about this and it is important that they be given time to examine their space before leaving feedback.

P.S. There’s also zero incentive for guests to leave reviews- I have left something like 400 reviews and have only received 250. So many guests use the platform only once, which really skews the numbers.

Omg! Yes Yes Yes!
The 24 hour time frame makes sense if someone lives in their tiny apartment that’s rented and they can see any damage but for most people that’s not the case. You also need to take in consideration any critique from other tenants/neighbors ( they might tell you in a week or so that renter threw cigarettes in their flower box for example). Reviews should not be rushed. Ideally I’d like to take my time writing a thoughtful, through review and be truthful. You can’t write a truthful review if you are forced to review because you can’t do a thing on Peerspace without reviewing. Perhaps Peerspace should have a choice on reviews? Those that review guests are placed higher in search criteria? Those that review quicker have higher standings? I know when I used Airbnb, you had the choice to NOT review a guest. I had a man that was “unreasonable” and a weirdo that I couldn’t wait to get rid of. Being that he knew where I lived, I wasn’t going to review him. So, Peerspace would require me to review this guy, I’d either have to lie or watch my back.

We agree with this as well. It has created challenges at times when we have a large influx of inquiries/booking requests.

I agree, on my last booking, I was receiving an email asking for a review 1 minute after the booking was to end. The ran a bit over and I did not charge them. I reviewed them the next day, Peerspace did not pay me until a week and a day after the booking ended and my client still has not entered a review.

Agree 100%. I occasionally read reviews of guests looking to book our space and they’re not terribly useful. “Great Guest” or some such. Because we have to write SOMEthing. Give us a few days and our reviews might actually be specific enough to help others.

Can someone from support please weigh in on this? It’s really getting in the way every weekend.

Hi all,

Thank you for the feedback regarding the review process. There’s been a lot of good insights here and rest assured, they’re being shared internally with our product team.

We understand that our policies and procedures are not a one size fits all, so we do our best to use the feedback we’re given to help the platform evolve for the betterment of all.

While there aren’t plans for any immediate changes to the review process, I’d like to open this up and solicit any further feedback anyone here might have on this topic. The CX and product teams here at Peerspace have an open feedback loop and are in regular communication.

Twice now I have hosted ABC News (20/20). Their reviews would be absolutely invaluable to me but their organization is huge and obviously their schedules are packed. Both times they could not review in them tight timeframe and I am left without that even though they have texted that they love my space more than any in which they have shot. Please change this policy!!!

This definitely has to be worked on, I have had to rush reviews many times so I can accept a booking without having a chance to check my spaces to make sure guest abided by the rules .

Hi Jennifer, your guests can leave a review at any time, so it would be worth following up and requesting again. @Matt_M Many very happy guests do not post reviews, so one thing that could help would be for Peerspace to provide a review link that we can send the guest to make it easier.
