Instant booking

We are new to the Peerspace community. We have instant book turned off because we like to approve the event prior to booking. Ours is and outdoor venue and the last two productions have booked (instant booked) then have to go through the hassle of cancelling when they (and we) find out they want to film indoors.

If the instant book button is turned to off, why is Peerspace taking the money before we approve?

Hey there!

Thanks for reaching out, and welcome to the Host Community Forum! I am happy to shed some light on our payment process for guests.

When a booking request is submitted, an authorization hold will be placed on the guests credit card for the amount of the booking total to ensure there are enough funds available in the account. A hold often reads as a “pending” or “processing” transaction in the guests bank statement. The card on file will not be charged in full until the booking request is accepted by the host.

As soon as the host accepts the booking, the reservation is confirmed and the Peerspace Cancellation and Refund policy takes effect.

We highly recommend guests only submit a booking request when they are certain that a cancellation is very unlikely.

Guests have the option to “Message Host" by clicking the button under the host’s profile photo to check availability and ask any questions before booking.

For more information, head over to our explanation of the payment process.

If you have any further questions and concerns, don’t hesitate to contact us directly at help@peerspace.com

Thank you Lauren. This is very helpful and appreciated.
