Hello All!
Is it common to allow someone to come check out your space before booking?
I am new to Peerspace and recently had an inquiry where they asked to come check out the space before booking. Curious to know if this is normal/typical?
Thank you,
Lauren
Yes! I offer tours during the week and find it’s really helpful for bookings. It assures me and the guest that the space will work and that we both are prepared.
I’ve done it and it was in my favor. At the time, I forgot I started making a listing. The guy reached and next thing I know they loved it and filmed a movie at my house. My listing is much better now.
However, now I have a reel and tok for IG, FB, and TikTok. So no one ask to come see the space anymore. The video helps seal the deal.
I find giving tours is a good thing. Amongst other things, you can never be accused of misrepresenting the space. Plus it gives you an opportunity to sell it by pointing out the best features for their shoot.
I require people to take tour for our large party spaces. This allows us to confirm that they have all of the venue rules AND we can get a feel for them and how they will treat the space. After years of hosting on Peerspace - I have gotten pretty good at reading people and knowing if the event is going to get out of hand.
Since my photostudio has the natural light capability, photographers/videographers are more confident renting my space since they can clearly see the sun’s direction, as it comes into the space. I’m also available to explain the amenities that comes with the space, it’s a great selling point.
Hi John, I would love to see your listings. We have a space in Burbank and max out at 100, would love to refer larger groups.
Yes I give the tours as well and can show them the extras as well
We give tours after sending them a 2 minute video of The Studio. Between the video and the tour… it’s a Done Deal. ![]()
Yes, my home is for film production. A “scout” beforehand is normal. I had one big shoot who wanted a tech scout 2 days beforehand with 8 people. They booked an extra hour for it!
I offer every inquiry a tour of the space. It also allows you to talk about the event and go over all details give the rules.
Yes, I created a studio tour link during the week for them to come and see the space.
Agreed with all the other comments. Its a great way to show your space and have the guest truly see if it’s the right fit for them and understand the ground rules. For me a big benefit of it is also to see if they are the right fit for you. Acts as a great screening for professionalism.
