When they ask "what are the rates?"

Recently received an inquiry for a brunch event on a Sunday and the guest messaged me to ask “what are the rates?” I guess there’s a chance they didn’t read the quote that pops up when entering day and times but…it’s happened a few times before and it seems to me to be an ask for a discount.
Anyone else have that experience?
I played dumb (not my nature) and said it shows up on the quote. But, I’ve also noticed, in the few instances when I did extend a discount, the booking falls into the category of poor behavior (i.e. leaves the place a mess, overstays their time, etc.)
Anyone else notice that, too?
Generally speaking, the “no good deed go unpunished” adage rings true.
Thanks, Jeff

There’s no reason to offer a discount to a new person, if it’s a repeat renter than it’s to your discretion. What’s the advantage of offering a discount to someone you know nothing about? Why should they be rewarded? When people have asked for a discount ( even though there’s already a discount applied for going over a certain amount of hours), I tell them no, it’s already discounted. They never book and never book with anyone else on Peerspace. They also try to take the conversation off of Peerspace, as they say to “negotiate a price”. I tell them , nope, keep it on Peerspace.
