I just received notice from Sergio that Peerspace thinks my booking violates trust and safety guidelines. I read through the official statement online and cannot figure out what the problem is–and nowhere do I find a contact link to learn more. Help!
@Kathryn_M Welcome to the forum! I am happy to jump in and assist. Due to the nature of the Trust and Safety’s work, I cannot divulge much on this forum. But I can confirm that Sergio included the reason the event was canceled in his email. Please respond to that email if you have any further questions about the canceled booking!
Kathryn - it’s likely that the guest trying to book is the reason for the cancellation, not you, the host. That has happened to us before, and can be for various reasons including:
- the guest’s credit card could not be verified
- address could not be verified
- a bad review or complaint from another host alerts peerspace to unwanted activity during the booking process
- the account is new and is making suspicious bookings or requests
- the client has made statements in communication that violate Peerspace’s rules
- the account has been suspended for some reason
Also, be sure you haven’t said anything that violates the terms of your host agreement, like offering to take payment for the booking off the platform.

So that indicates that peerspace thinks there is something up not Sergio. I assume Sergio is the renter?
Curious to know the outcome of this.
