How’s Rentals for Everyone?

Hi
Just checking in to get the pulse of how people are doing overall with their rentals.
Pre-Covid I was always a Powerhost with a very steady business. I have a nice boutique 2500Sw ft production space in the Marina Del Rey area. Since Covid I have only had 1 bookings in 5 months and 2-3 that cancelled due to Covid related.
I know small productions have started up around town but I’m not getting any old regulars or new clients.
What’s everyone else’s experience.
Thanks For input.

Hi Robert, we have been shut down since mid march. Most of our bookings were social events, followed by off-sites and only some production. We posted on our events page that we cannot currently accept social events.

I just had my first booking (non-Peerspace), three half-days for interviews. My first Peerspace booking is for tomorrow and Friday with a production company out of New York, also filming an interview.

Very light on inquiries. I have been focusing more on my own photography business, shooting portraits and headshots. I would like to more actively promote the space for production, so that’s next on my list.

I’m not getting any all requests. I guess I need to lower my rates or something. However, I still don’t know what CDC guide to reopen with. I’ll do more research to confidently reopen.

We reopened our small photo studio recently and are getting one or two short bookings per week. We only allow a few people in our studio at a time, and spread out the rentals a lot more than ever before. We installed a medical grade 0.1micron HEPA air filter and a UV sterilization lamp which we run between rentals. Plus of course all the Lysol spray and wipes and sanitizers and gloves and masks and stuff. I wish everyone good luck reopening, and make sure you do your best to keep guests safe.

Peerspace has slowed down quite a bit for me, but ■■■■■■■■ has sped way up at the same time.

Thanks for all your feedback. To my surprise after writing my note here one of my previous regular video shooters booked a full day for next month. Hopefully the start of a trend.
Best to you and your space. Stay safe

I’m in NYC and run a 5000 sq/ft space for photo/film productions. Also do small weddings and events.

I was booked everyday last week with photo/film things and have 2 bookings and 2 holds for this coming week. Other people are inquiring about early September. No events though, but some weddings are asking about October and November.

Everyone wears masks in NYC and we’re at or below 1% infection rate. If the rest of the country would just follow our example, businesses everywhere would be doing better.

Pre pandemic we had multiple bookings almost every single day. Now we’re down to maybe 2-3 bookings a week, sometimes none. During the past few weeks things have slowly started to pick back up so hopefully it continues to get better.

After a few months of nothing, we’re finally back up! It’s not the booming business it was, but it’s steady! Mostly photographers.

On the books total, so far, I have 9 bookings in August. I was not on Peerspace pre-Covid, so I have nothing to compare it to. I’m wondering if August is just a super busy month for events? I hope this keeps up!

I’m in Las Vegas and have a pool and jacuzzi, huge main room, and a view of the Strip. 3k sq ft. Starting at $75 an hour and going up from there. I have one other competitor with a pool and he charges $125 and up. He has a bigger pool area, but I have a bigger main area inside.

Have had photo shoots, video shoots, wedding receptions, birthday parties, etc.
