People smoking weed during rental

What do you do if you show up and the clients have hot boxed your business with weed???

I’m not against weed but i don’t want it in my business.

Hi Vincent
I had same experience too, what I did was telling them that I didn’t like this. They stopped and seems were OK but I don’t know if they will come back or not.

Although too many people think smoking weed is non consequential. Many many other people see it as a sign of trouble. Businesses surrounding themselves around that risk, no matter how medicinal they claim it to be are just asking for trouble over time. The stuff stinks a place of business up, incites neighbours and now you have more attention then you want from people and your goal of being a successful peer-space booking agent has been comprised over some idiotic habit that brings no value to any business person. After all the effort you went through to create a profit on this site. Either you have a business or a place to harbour weaker mindsets. I am not sure why it is even a question? Sharp business people have no problem saying No thank you easily… I set a level of expectation and the quality of folks that rent my small space out…

Ultimately, if your property is listed as no smoking, kick them out immediately. Rules must be enforced if you want them to be adhered to. Otherwise, folks will take advantage of your leniency amd think it’s ok to break the same rules in other venues. A word to the wise: weed is legal in DC so your house rules/policies should include verbiage that specifically qualifies marijuana vs tobacco vs vape pens.

And there’s no reason to want or welcome back renters who so flagrantly violate your rules.

I also highly recommend you require a service contract and collect a security deposit separate from Peerspace.

Hi all!

Anytime users are violating your rules or the law you reserve the right to end the booking immediately. You’re still paid out for these bookings as long as sufficient evidence is provided to Peerspace.

Specifically in regards to cannabis, we understand several states have legalized it, however, it remains illegal at the federal level.

Any questions or concerns can be directed to help@peerspace.com

A client did this in my space and it took an entire weekend for the smell to go away- I had the fan on, windows open and had to burn incense.
