When I just logged onto Peerspace, I had to sign something to agree to the new rules. I only saw the general categories, but did not see what the new rules were. Perhaps had I clicked on them prior to agreeing, I might have seen them, but I did not. When I then searched the site to find them, I could not. Does anyone know what they are?
Dear Tommy,
Thank you. However, that was not what I was looking for. This is what I am talking about that is merely an outline. For example, #4 says "We clarified the process that hosts and guests enter when a dispute . . . " But there is no explanation of what that new process is. Same with all of the points.
Does anyone know?
Yvonne
Hi Yvonne, some of the updates are all new sections to the PSA, others are clarifications where a paragraph may have been updated. In the case of how disputes work, we outline this further in Section 4.1 Disputes Between Users. We recommend taking this time to read through the terms in a thorough manner so you understand the obligations of all users. We have tried in many areas to make it clear and easy to follow.
Thank you.
Where can I find the terms? I searched the site and couldn’t find it. I’m probably dumb & blind, but if you could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.
Never mind. I found it now that I know that the word “terms” are what I was looking for. But it’s soooo long to read. I wish you had merely stated what the updates are.
This is one thing that worries me. And I do hope you haven’t changed your policy:
" Respect other people’s information: You are only allowed to use the Content provided through the Platform as intended. You may not use or misuse Content from the Platform, images, or descriptions outside of the Platform. You may not harvest, scrape, or collect other information about our other users, such as names, phone numbers, physical addresses, email addresses or any other Content that is not publicly displayed in search results pages prior to a Booking confirmation."
I remember you sent a survey before on whether we spoke to our guests on the phone prior to booking. I always like to largely because I want to be certain they are getting permits. Also I like to get a feeling for them and learn more about their project. In addition, many of my guests like to scout. So I do hope I can still get to do this.
I agree with Yvonne. This seems conflicting. Many guests require site visits, I use Calendly to book those visits which requires an email address, in addition even if you just allowed site visits without using something like Calendly, it would make sense to collect phone numbers to easily communicate arrival etc. Can this be further clarified?
Thx so much!
If you ask a potential client for their phone number, and they give it to you, that’s fine. That doesn’t violate this part of the terms.
Providing info to you via Calendly is content you’ve gathered separate from Peerspace. Also, I think the key words here are…
“You are only allowed to use the Content provided through the Platform as intended.”
I would argue that asking for a phone number to assist in make an appointment to visit your space is an intended use. If you were to take their number and spam them with marketing calls or sell it to a 3rd party, that would violate this rule.
Thanks Geoffrey. This clears it up. I guess I should have read it more carefully, only that survey given earlier scared me. One of the other platforms does not allow getting the phone number which is why I much prefer booking via Peerspace.
