1. You Must Be Yourself–A Real Person.
In order to ensure meaningful dialogue and ensure the legitimacy of communications, all users must be real people, not bots, who provide their real names and accurate information about themselves. Providing misleading or false information about yourself, the nature of your business, your affiliation with a particular person, group, or entity, or your experiences related to using the Peerspace platform or hosting an Event through Peerspace, is grounds for denial of Service and termination of your relationship with Peerspace. When choosing a profile photo, you may not use an image that is not your likeness.
You also may not impersonate other users of our Services or mislead, deceive, or confuse others. Misrepresenting your identity or your affiliation with a particular entity in an untruthful way is prohibited. You may not use another person’s name, likeness, image, or personal information to deceive others into thinking you are someone else or that you have an affiliation with a particular business when you do not. You are also prohibited from attempting to use another user’s account or creating an account or profile for anyone other than yourself. For example, if you are the general manager of a company, do not falsely state that you are also the CEO, or create an account or profile on behalf of the CEO of your company. You also may not manipulate identifiers or metadata in order to disguise the origin of any message transmitted.
2. You Must Accurately Represent Your Space.
The authenticity of a Space is just as important as the authenticity of a user. All depictions, descriptions, accounts, identifications, or other information about a particular Space must be accurate. You are not allowed to use an images or descriptions of a space that do not accurately represent the actual appearance of that Space in an attempt to deceive others. You are prohibited from misrepresenting the fixtures, features, accommodations, or other material aspects of a particular space when describing it. When using photos, you may not use images that are not of the Space referenced or that inaccurately or deceptively portray its characteristics, including but not limited to its size, shape, light, current state of repair or condition.
3. You Must Accurately Represent Your Experience
Descriptions and accounts of events must be accurate. They must represent your personal experience or that of your employees, agents, or other personnel associated with your entity. Descriptions and accounts of events must be personal to you and not based on hearsay, conjecture, speculation, or rumor. You must not provide information that would compromise an investigation or invade the confidentiality of an arbitration or litigation. You must not provide descriptions or accounts of events that are fraudulent, misleading, false, or deceptive. Content that does not represent the personal experience of the poster are prohibited and may be removed at Peerspace’s sole discretion.
4. You Must Maintain Professionalism.
Discussion among users can serve a valuable purpose so long as they are conducted respectfully. All of our users must behave in a professional manner and may not dishonestly or inappropriately. All user-generated content, including photos, communications, and posts, must be professional, relevant to our Platform, and on-topic. You may not post information or material that is shocking or intimidating to others. It is never okay to share pornographic, sexually suggestive or explicit, graphic, or obscene material on the Platform.
In addition, maintain professionalism means upholding the following standards:
Be Honest and Respectful
When exchanging communication or information, be honest and respectful. Do not share comments, opinions, content, or non-relevant ideas in a misleading or false way in order to hide your intent or motive. Do not engage in conduct which would create a conflict of interest or promote or encourage unlawful activity or unlawful discrimination. You are prohibited from using the Platform to share inaccurate, misleading, or false content or information, including links to third-party websites or other media outlets. When sharing content or endorsing a particular person, company, Space, product or service for valuable consideration (including non-monetary benefits) you must provide a clear and conspicuous notice of the benefit your receive. This includes, but is not limited to, disclosing personal or family relationships, monetary payment, receipt of free products, services, or other gratuities related to the endorsement.
Being respectful also means not wasting others’ time. Your posted content must be on-topic and relevant to the Platform, group, discussion, or particular talking-point in the context of your post.
No Not Safe For Work (NSFW) Content
Nudity, sexually explicit or suggestive material, and pornography are not tolerated. While some reference to adult content may be permissible in a professional or artistic context, it must not be gratuitous. Peerspace’s Platform and Services are never to be used for sexual exploitation, human trafficking, exploitation of children, or any illegal purposes. You are prohibited from posting content which threatens violence, sexual assault or exploitation, or abuse. You may not use our services to engage in or facilitate escort services, prostitution, or human trafficking.
5. Maintain Civility
Peerspace’s Host Forum is intended to be a safe and welcoming community for all users. The Host Forum should not be used to engage in bullying, unlawful discrimination, harassing, threatening, hateful, violent, or inappropriate activity. In maintaining civility you must obey the following:
Harassing or intimidating other individuals or groups of individuals is prohibited. Comments or actions which are degrade, shame, or embarrass others is not allowed. Such prohibited actions include using offensive and crude language, making sexual advances or engaging in sexual innuendo, posting non-relevant or unwelcome information about an individual without his/her consent (including providing sensitive or personal information, a.k.a. “doxing”), or encouraging others to do the same is prohibited.
No Hateful, Violent, or Terrorism Content
Persons or entities that promote violence against person or property, criminal activity, hate, or prejudice are not permitted to use our Platform or Services. You may not use our Platform or Services to engage in such promotion or express support for any such person or entity who does.
No Harmful, Illegal, and Shocking Content
The Peerspace platform may not be used to promote harmful, illegal, or shocking content or language. Content that promotes, encourages, supports, or references such activity is not permitted. You may not use the Platform or Services, to engage in activity which encourages violent (including self-violent) behavior, drug use, illegal activity, or mental abuse.
You may not use our Platform or Services to send or facilitate the sending of untargeted, irrelevant, unsolicited, or unauthorized commercial or promotional messages. You are also prohibited from sending or posting repetitive messages. All messages, communications, and posted content should be original, professional, and thoughtful. Using the Platform or Services to redirect users to commercial or promotional websites unaffiliated with you or your Space is prohibited.
6. Respect the Rights of Others
Any content or material you post to the Platform will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary. By providing any content, you grant Peerspace and our affiliates and service providers, and each of their and our respective licensees, successors, and assigns the right to use, reproduce, modify, perform, display, distribute, and otherwise disclose to third parties any such material for the purposes of providing the Platform and Services, including using such content or material for advertising or promotional purposes, at our discretion.
Users are required to respect the copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, and confidential information of others. You must ensure that you have the right to use someone else’s work on our Platform. Additionally, you should respect the natural and legal rights of others. Our Platform and Services should not be used for illegal, fraudulent, or non-commercial uses. You are obliged to follow the following standards:
Copyright, Trademark, and Trade Secrets
Peerspace does not allow for copyright or trademark violations or the unlawful disclosure of trade secrets. You may not violate the intellectual property rights of others. You may not copy or distribute the protected works of others without their permission, nor may you engage in activity which would contribute to intellectual property infringement.
Obey the Law
You must comply with all applicable laws when using the Platform or Services, including, without limitation, privacy laws, intellectual property laws, anti-spam laws, export control laws, tax laws, and regulatory requirements. You may not use the Platform or Services to create or operate a pyramid scheme, engage in fraud, or to sell or promote illegal drugs.
Respect the Privacy and Publicity of Others
The privacy of our users is very important. You must not engage in activity which would invade other’s right of privacy. You must not solicit, collect, use, or disclose the personal information of others obtained illegally or in violation of the law. You must not collect or disclose information that you do not have the consent to collect or disclose, including the personal or confidential information about others (including your employer), or collect, post, or distribute information about or depicting children without their consent. Do not use the name, likeness, or images of others, including other businesses, to endorse a product or service without their prior consent.
7. Respect our Rights and Our Rules
Reporting Violations of Our Policy
Peerspace may, but is not obligated to, review the content, information, and materials posted by users on its Platform and Services, including the Host Forum. If you believe that another user is in violation of any of our policies (other than copyright infringement), you may report the violation firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include all information that may be helpful to evaluating the claim, including the name of the person in violation and reference to the offending conduct or material. Please also include your contact information so that we may contact you for additional information. Peerspace will act on such information according to its internal policies, procedures, and judgment, at its sole discretion.
Reporting Claims of Copyright Infringement
Peerspace will respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with applicable law. If you believe any materials accessible on or from the Platform infringe your copyright, you may request removal of those materials (or access to them) by submitting written notification as outlined here.
