A university film crew reached out to offer 50%, so $500 for the day versus my usual $1,000. I said I would take less as they are students. But now I wonder, is that permitted? How do I go about doing so, to give them the discounted rate for the shoot? THank you. Susie

You can send them a custom offer and change the price. Keep in mind the fee you pay to Peerspace with that discount.

Thank you so much, Geo_L. I just realized though that she meant she only wanted to pay $500, which means I would only get paid about $200 once the Peerspace fee and cleaning were covered. So I just declined. Thanks for the advice! Now I know how to create a custom offer in the future.

Agree on custom rate; but they still need a COI and I hold a security deposit, too (on all jobs but especially with students.)
Long ago, I used to give discounts to students; never again!
Seriously, they should pay more, not less.
Things are more likely to get broken, misplaced, or otherwise b0rked… they’re not professionals yet.
Also, discounts cheapen your branding.
