Multiday Rental Advice Needed

We have been contacted by a production company about renting our home for a period of time of 2-3 weeks, to be the primary site for shooting their film. We are experienced in the use of our home for filming, having done this many times over the last 25 years. We have never had any request of this length of time, and I have so many concerns about this. We live in a neighborhood with neighbors all up and down the street. The expected crew is up to 40 persons. We know that along with large crews come noisy rigs, catering trucks, and some disruption to our usually quiet neighborhood. While the idea of the earnings is quite tempting, I am worried about the potential chaos lasting for so many days. I am also not sure how to charge for such a large scale event. Do I stick with my hourly? Agree to a reduced rate due to the number of hours? Require reimbursement to lease temporary housing for us and our pets? Any feedback or suggestions would be helpful. The proposed dates are in October, so I have time to consider this. Thanks in advance!

I would just do a flat-fee day rate that incorporates the fee for using your home plus any out of pocket expenses you expect to incur if you have to move out for the duration.

I wouldn’t separate the out of pocket expenses. Just bundle it all into the daily fee.

Large productions of the scale you’re describing often have a neighborhood coordinator or someone on the production crew that serves as a liaison between them and the community. It’s in their best interest to keep the peace for you.

This is very helpful! I’m hoping we can make it work, but it seems rather overhwleming.
