Will Peerspace be charging sales tax on all transactions in Marketplace Facilitator States (such as California) starting in 2022/2023?

I’ve read through the new legislation, and it looks to me like rentals are still exempted (if they paid retail sales tax at the original acquisition), but it also looks like it is being interpreted differently by some Marketplaces to include all transactions and that worries me.

I am no professional. But this seems to aim towards the sales of tangible goods. service sector exempted?

Hi @Christopher_D this appears to apply to “retail sales”, it further states, “A marketplace includes a physical or online place where marketplace sellers sell or offer for sale tangible merchandise for delivery in California.” I don’t see how that would be applicable to renting out your space.
