These boards are super helpful, since I am a Newbie and my 1st booking is coming up- any idea what an appropriate rate would be?
Also, I tried to look up if a Permit was required for a short film production, it was not mentioned is there a way to be sure?
Lastly, I did not ask for a Deposit, since they accepted the booking already, any suggestion?
I did see Peerspace appears to have insurance and hoping I wont need it but does anyone have experience with either situation, Deposit or Peerspace insurance?
Any guidance greatly appreciated !

Hi Yolanda, welcome to the community! If you are in LA I believe permits are mandatory but the guest should be the one handling all of that. Peerspace insurance only covers damage for items at your home so your own homeowners and umbrella should be ample enough to cover any incidents. The client should always provide you a Certficate of insurance showing their olson policy covering their work too. I’m happy to answer any other questions!

Hi Laura,
Thank you , your email was very helpful and the guests have now provide those items.
Laura_Z1,
Are you sure Peerspace insurance covers property damage to your home? I was under the impression it was only a liability policy (e.g. someone gets injured, you get sued).
I’m trying to figure out if a homeowner’s policy covers damage done from a Peerspace guest, or if it won’t be covered because it’s from a business use. Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Alex
