Does anyone here uses Peerspace as a full time job?

Hi everyone!
Curious if anyone here uses Peerspace as a full time job and/or has different spaces listed. Would love to learn about your ROI, suggestions and ultimately if it’s worth it.

I don’t know HOW to get that steady stream of traffic to my studio, but it would be the dream to work full-time as the owner of the rental photography studio. A kind of retirement.

Not yet. I pay $434 in rent and made $400 by 4 bookings 1 month in. I really believe it has a lot to do with making it known by network and marketing how bad ass your space is worthy to rent. Good luck!

Our space is my personal photo studio, but our studio is also a retail storefront with an open floorplan that lends itself well to mid-size events (around 100 people). I shoot during the week and most of our rentals these days are on weekends. Seems like an unusual situation where we have one business that can be put away in order to host rentals. If this was just a rental studio we would focus on getting more rentals during the week. Many people rent their homes, so the rentals are likewise a bonus for space with another primary use.

Our space gets a wide variety of bookings–well, we did pre covid–because it is flexible, but I am envious of the spaces that are very specific with their decor and furnishings. If a space is well designed, then there is a reason guests will choose your space versus another. If you can rent a space at a reasonable/below market rate, and design it to be attractive to your target audience, rentals can be a good business. There is however a lot of competition, with many competing on price, so that is a big challenge in the space.

Hi Daiane, I do have two spaces listed and the net income from them is higher than my last job, but I still consider it more of a side hustle because the income really just covers some of the carrying costs on those properties. To make it work you’d have to have a very affordable or paid off property and high volume. If you insert the link to your listing I’m sure the community here would be happy to brainstorm ways that you can drive bookings. All the best!

ROI? Peerspace is almost zero “I” with a high “R”. The only thing it costs you is time and effort. You only pay them when someone books through the platform.

I run my space as (one of) my fulltime job(s). Peerspace is not paying all of my bills, but it’s a large portion. Use to do much better here when I did events, but I killed that biz at the beginning of COVID and have yet to go back. Based on the inquiries I get today, I could probably get back to it. Just not up for the stress/hassle.

That said, if you’re only listing on Peerspace you’re doing it wrong. Be here, but also be everywhere else. This includes making a website for your space, creating Instagram ads, Google ads, etc.
