Hi Everyone!
I am new to peerspace and just had my first inquiry. They asked if I planned to be onsite during the event which I mentioned that I planned to be. Our venue is the backyard of my mom’s home so she does live there.
Is it normal to be on site while someone is renting your space? I feel more comfortable knowing that I am there in case an issue arrises.
Any insight is appreciated!
Thanks!
Hi Lauren,
I stay onsite when I have an event. My space is in my basement. It resembles a 1930s speakeasy. I have a number of elements that can be moved but some can’t or could be damaged if someone decided to switch things around. So, I would never be comfortable not being close by so folks can reach me for help.
Good luck!
Rich
Super helpful! Thanks so much for the insight!
Hi @Rich_R and @Lauren_B. Good question. It’s perfectly reasonable to be onsite during a booking. In fact, Peerspace encourages or requires you to provide adequate supervision for your space. This doesn’t mean that you do not offer privacy to your guests during bookings, but being nearby on the properly allows you to be attentive to needs as they come up while ensuring the safety of your space and others. Many hosts self-supervise bookings or offer a site rep, security, etc. depending on the activity.
This is super helpful! Thank you so much for the input!
For social events, the entire time, it’s actually part of our pitch and in some cases it is presented as a value add, or even a free amenity. Same with production shoots. Our company meeting rentals not as much - Dominick
Always. Especially for events.
Sometimes I dip out for a little, but I’m always checking in via the cameras.
Thanks for the feedback here…I’m in San Diego and feel really weird being on-site for events… I don’t think it’s standard practice but does anyone else in SoCal have any input?? I’d love to know!
I’m grateful you asked this question Lauren!
Unless it’s my event, I’ve only ever stayed around long enough to make sure my hosts are feeling comfortable in the space, they’ve got the wifi/bluetooth speakers working, they know where everything is, + I leave before the rest of their guests get there.
My office is in the north wing of our space, typically locked from the guests-- I may consider staying onsite now to get a few things done, but also to be availalbe should anything arise.
Again-- gratitiude to you for asking!!
Cheers.
