I recently increased my cleaning fee ever so slightly before the holidays and went from getting a ton on media/production booking requests to zero. My place is in San Diego. Do you think these bookings have just decreased since it’s the beginning of the year, or do you think I should revert back to my old pricing? Just seems odd….
Hi Candice, what types of productions do you normally get at your property? Are they mostly commercial productions?
I ask because we feel we have seen a bit of a decrease as well and recently had a shoot postponed because the production company’s client pushed the shoot due to COVID.
I work in production as well and the beginning of the year can be slow at times.
Drew
Hi Drew! Sorry for the late response! We use to get all kinds of productions bookings- mostly smaller companies doing brand/advertising photoshoots. I think also because maybe LA decreased their COVID restrictions, a lot of companies might be going back up there?
Last week I looked for my listing, I was 30 pages back, with over 200 reviews.
This week I’m at 31 pages back!!!
Why are there so many listings in front of mine, that have no reviews at all?
Is this in PS’s best interest? It’s not in mine!
Hello Candice, first time im entering the host community and I think the cleaning fee should always be included now that our visitors always want to find a clean studio and a well maintained studio. It also happens to me that people text me if I can not include the cleaning fee but in our studios we clean before and after every booking now that we understand that no one really wants to pay for a cleaning fee but they do want to find the space clean. I think that to enter your studio and find it completely clean they really shouldn’t complain about the cleaning fee and sometimes the reservations are really slow but as well there is a lot of competition, which is also a good thing. now that we all have our own style of studio and can get more visitors. I recommend to change the photos possibly or move some furniture or decorations around. Many times it works for me and had my visitors feel like the studio is a different style which the same furniture.
I don’t think this has anything to do with the cleaning fee however now that you put the value in your own studio
I totally agree with you. I suffer the same problem sometime.
