Calendar scheduling/syncing

Does the Peerspace Calendar allow us to edit our schedules? I have booking requests thinking my studio is available but it’s already booked. Seems like Peerspace only adds in the confirmed clients through their site. I advertise on more than just Peerspace and am booked outside of this site. I also don’t want to sync my calendar because I have lots of personal things on there. Anyone else have this problem? Or have suggestions/ideas?

I just spent a few hours doing tests. I made a calendar on my Google calendar for Peerspace. I named the calendar Studio Rentals. Again, I logged into my Google account, went to the calendar, and created a new calendar called Studio Rentals. I did this because when you connect Peerspace to your Google calendar, it will see all the different calendars you have, and give you the option to select which one you want it to sync to.

So when I go into Peerspace to connect to my Google Calendars, I can select just the calendar called Studio Rentals. In this way, I believe you will not have to share any of your other events as long as they’re not on the calendar you want Peerspace to sync to.

THAT SAID!!! If I goto my Studio Rental calendar on Google Calendars, make an event through the Google Calendar website; the Peerspace calendar does not see it, AT ALL! I have tried refreshing the sync, but nothing happens when you create an event on your Google calendar. If I create or block time off on the Peerspace calendar, the Google calendar does not update even if I refresh the sync. In fact, the Peerspace calendar does not play nice with any other calendar, as I have figured out from this. Forget iCal. Peerspace doesn’t play nice there, either, or iCal doesn’t play nice with the Peerspace calendar.

I really don’t have a clue as to what the purpose is of connecting the Peerspace calendar to a third party calendar is. I haven’t been able to get either to talk to the other.

Thank you for your response Mark. This was helpful for sure!

Hi @Mark_G1 , after you connect your calendar make sure to refresh your browser. You should see your events from your external calendar populated into Peerspace. Also, when you make a calendar block on Peerspace we do not send that to your external calendar. Only Peerspace bookings get sent to your external calendar. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Rony

Nada. Refreshed page as well.

@Mark_G1 on your Google calendar are your events marked as “busy”? The Peerspace calendar will only pull in calendar events that are “busy” or “unavailable”.

How do I mark the dates on Google Calendar as busy or unavailable? Attached is a screen shot of two days I put on my google calendar, but I don’t see any way to mark them busy or unavailable.

Click into the event. Scroll down to where it says “free” and change it to “busy”. You can also make “busy” your default option. Thanks

Yes it is important that the calendar is set to “Busy” for it to block the time off in Peerspace. Sometimes we mark dates on our calendar like “studio staff meeting” but we don’t want it to interfere with bookings, so we will mark the time as “FREE” so that the space still shows as available during that time and can be booked.
