Non refundable deposits

Our facility policy is to charge a non-refundable deposit to avoid people who aren’t serious about booking and to pay for the work I put in up front for an event. Particularly for a wedding reception that is booked far out from the actual date, its not fair to ask the couple to lay out all of that money that far in advance and if they do end up canceling before my cancellation policy is up, I don’t get paid for all of the planning work I’ve put in for months. Has anyone else had this issue or know a way to deal with this?

50% payment between 90 and 14 until the booking. 100% inside of that.

How is that not working for you?

Maybe because it’s a custom offer? I don’t see that as an option. If I’m booking a wedding 9-12 mos out for a wedding, waiting to get paid inside of 3 months does not work. While I appreciate you responding, “How is that not working for you?” is a little harsh. I’m new to booking on PeerSpace and had a question about use.

That may work for you then, since Peerspace doesn’t collect the security deposit we have to do it separately. I think you just have to make it clear of your policy. But I wonder if we can do terms on peerspace on collecting money. I have always assumed they always have to pay in full upfront.

Sorry. The cancellation policies are something that you actively setup when creating your listing so I was confused as to why you were surprised at the payout timing.

I take deposits for bookings made outside of Peerspace, but Peerspace bookings always payout after the event is wrapped and reviewed.
