Hello to LA area hosts, just wanted to make sure that you all know that LA Magazine doesn’t pay its bills. Luckily using Peerspace will guarantee your getting paid but if they contact you off the platform, tell them to shove it. They will negotiate the use of your space and then at the last moment tell you that they pay NET60. When that deadline has blown by, they say “oh it’s NET60 from the date of publication.” Then they just never pay and hope you forget.
Don’t accept any of these corporate we’ll pay you later scams for any freelance work or for use of your studios.
The previous Editor-in-Chief was a friend so we just let them reserve the date. Then we were informed that the parent company pays NET60. It was too late to back out. Then 60 days came and went. Then it became NET60 from date of publication. Finally I threw a little fit and Shirley paid me directly.
She has now quit so the magazine is no longer her problem but wanted other area hosts to be aware not to take any shoots with them.
Hi @Brad_B - We are so sorry to hear this happened, but glad to hear you were eventually paid for the booking. We were unable to locate this booking within your account but if there is anything we can assist with please don’t hesitate to contact our support team and we will be happy to look into this further!
