Do you use keyless entry?

Hi,

Does anyone use a keyless entry system for their guests? We are trying to find some solutions to regular guests that use the space every week or every other week, but during times that we aren’t normally at the space. The quotes I have received so far are very expensive and also not exactly what we need or require. Any ideas, or ways that people deal with letting guests into their space without being there in-person?

I got a Populife lockbox on amazon. Been using it for a year now and am very happy. NEST lock would have been better but its not compatible with my door. I do use nest camera bell and it helps me see who is at the door and make sure the door is locked…

We use Nexkey and Open Path - Open Path is good for our larger space but NexKey we have at our smaller space and it’s perfect for what you need (it’s about $80/month for our needs).
You can give people digital keys on their phone and restrict number of uses, exact times of days or schedules they can use the keys, turn them on or off, and send one-time use keys to one-time users without having to reset anything or worry about anyone giving the code to someone else since it’s married to their phone.
They have systems for a lot of different types of locks including traditional key-cores, push bars, and mag-locks like ours.

It depends on your building and what the landlord allows you to do (even if you own it, it depends heavily on the door hardware as well.) I use August/Yale for both of my spaces and have no complaints- $200-300 for the hardware and no monthly fee, allows me to generate keycodes that expire and unlock the door from anywhere.

We use a Master Lock (LOck Box). Which is bluetooth. I can change lock codes and have multiple users. It also keeps record of which user came in and at what time.

Yes. I use simplisafe. It’s budget friendly and also allows me to change pins as well as see what time the door locks/unlocks.

We use August smartlock (August Smart Lock + Connect | Control Your Door Lock From Anywhere) with the keypad at our residential AirBnB and it’s great. For our commercial we are looking into a “narrow style” keypad like this one (DL1200 Alarm Lock narrow stile lock) because we have a glass door with a narrow metal frame. I actually met with a locksmith yesterday and he is stopping by to give me an estimate to do the whole thing. Apparently it’s a little tricky, so I’ll report back when I get an estimate.

Thank you, good point! We have a glass door so it’s a rim/mortise system (at least that’s what I think it’s called).

Is this the system you use? August + Yale Assure Locks | Connected by August Kit

Thank you! We also have a glass door but not one with the lever-style door handle (in other words, it’s not a deadbolt), so I wonder if it would work for us. Anyway, I appreciate the suggestion and will check it out. It might be a similar idea to what our locksmith proposed. They would have to route power to the door I think?

We have a simple Schlage with a key pad and use their app works great. Also got a WYZE camera from Amazon to monitor. All inexpensive stuff works…
