How do you handle adding extra charges for damage/cleaning/rules being broken

How do you put a hold through PP, Venmo, or Zelle? Just had submitted for cyc wall repaint charges for the second time. This time they are asking for the invoice as stated in this thread. We have the fees listing upfront on our house rules so not sure how that will work.

Just want to add a follow up, we asked Peerspace if adding our fines as “Add-on” charges would be sufficient and help resolve the issue of ensuring our fines are enforced when necessary, they suggested we do exactly that!

So now we have Add-on’s for Over capacity fee, Re-setting fee, Cyclorama repair fee

definitely include add-on’s for fines if you’re worried about any incidents not being dealt with properly!

Hey @Smac_M Curious to know more about how you’re incorporating and enforcing this. Are you making these add ons public on your listing profile so guests can select them during check out? Or are you just keeping these add ons unlisted but submitted them somehow via “Add Other Charges” after the booking has completed?

Hey @Smac_M! Wonderful idea. Similar question to @Garrett_C, are guests pre-selecting their add-ons?

I have a number of guests who want to shoot cannabis smoke, and I’d rather charge them ahead of time for our ozonation service to come in after the shoot than it be an emergency clean.

Thanks for sharing!

At the moment we have it listed publicly, so far we haven’t had to enforce anything cause we haven’t run into any new problems but we’re also hoping that because a guest can see these add-on’s they might take the rules even more seriously.
If we had to charge for one we would just submit via the Add Other Charges email after the booking.

it sounds like that could work for you, if you allow Cannabis and have it as an add-on then you can communicate a clear charge for it prior to the shoot and have the guest include it!

Thank you! Thankful we have 2200 sq ft and a really great ozonation service, because it’s not my preference, but here we are! lol

I do have a smoking fee add on of $75 that is shown on the listing. Lots of people get it. It helps to cover the cost of time that we take to ionize the space after the booking.

Hi Brad. Have you guys had any updates or progress with this issue?

delayed response but I can confirm the “Add-on” for extra charges as suggested by Peerspace support, does NOT work either. We were unable to include an “add-on” charge After the booking was complete. (in this case, cleaning fee add-on) Add-ons can only be added on prior to the booking. So…that was great dead-end suggestion from Peerspace support!

Taking a security deposit is critical to protecting yourself. I’ve stopped taking credit card security deposits as you will have to provide the same proof and receipts as Peerspace requires, and even then the credit card company will most likely side with the client. I’ve started taking security deposits through Zelle and Venmo. These platforms do not get involved with dispute resolutions - so once you have the security deposit, it is yours until YOU decide to give it back. There may be other platforms like these if you don’t like the ones I’ve mentioned

Agreed that the add-on feature doesn’t work after booking. Get a security deposit up front
