Hi Everyone, I’m a first time host of my home. I’m wondering if it is acceptable to ask that renters remove their shoes when inside the home, or wear disposable booties (that I would provide). If so, do I state that in the rules section on the listing? Thanks!
hello there
id like the answer to this question as well because i do not want shoes in my home either.
Yes, this is perfectly acceptable. You’ll just have to provide the booties. I also recommend having a 2nd non standard XL size available because people with big shoes will try to use that as an excuse to not wear them. And definitely mention it in your rules. You will likely have to hand them to each person yourself upon their arrival because it’s hard to enforce otherwise. Make sure they have loaded in completely and then put the booties on because they will walk around with them outside and then come back in which will defeat the purpose of them altogether. But your space, your rules.
Welcome @Jenny_M! We have had that rule for many years, and many productions have brought their own once they learned of our rule. You can definitely make it part of your house rules for the guests to bring their own, but it’s great to have some on hand as well. Depending on your pricing, from a customer service stand point, it may be a good idea to provide them yourself, but again, there’s cases for both sides of that. @Andrea_s1 Hope that helps answer your question as well. Best Wishes, Alex
